1.mixture is a substance made by combining two or more different materials in such a way that no chemical reaction occurs. A mixture can usually be separated back into its original components.

2. Homogeneous mixtures- are mixtures that have definite, true composition and properties. For example, any amount of a given mixture has the same composition and properties.

Heterogeneous mixtures- are mixtures with definite composition, for example, granite. The parts of a heterogeneous composition can be mechanically separated from each other.

1."Mixtures are formed simply by blending two or more
substances together in some random proportion without chemically changing
the individual substances in the mixture."

2.A homogeneous mixture is called a solution: salt or sugar and water,
air (solution of gases). These have a constant composition throughout
the solution.
A heterogeneous mixture would be: salt with sugar (no
water), water with gasoline or oil, salt with sand. These have areas
with differing compositions (you could usually see the separation of the
two things).

1. mixture, in chemistry, a physical combination of two or more pure substances (i.e., elements or compounds). A mixture is distinguished from a compound, which is formed by the chemical combination of two or more pure substances in a fixed, definite proportion.

2.Mixtures are often classified as homogeneous or heterogeneous. Solutions and colloids are homogeneous mixtures. The components of a homogeneous mixture are too intimately combined to be distinguished from one another by visual observation. A suspension is a heterogeneous mixture. The particles in a heterogeneous mixture are coarse enough to be distinguished by visual observation. Alloys are mixtures of metals and may be either homogeneous or heterogeneous.

1.)A mixture is a substance with a variable composition, meaning that it is composed of molecules or atoms of differing types. These may have intermolecular bonds, or bonds between molecules, but such bonds are not nearly as strong as those formed when elements bond to form a compound.

2.)
Homogeneous—that is, uniform in appearance, and having only one phase.
Heterogeneous-meaning that the mixture is separated into various regions with differing properties.

1.) mixture
-is a substance made by combining two or more different materials in such a way that no chemical reaction occurs. A mixture can usually be separated back into its original components. Some examples of Mixtures are oil, ocean water and soil. Mixtures are the product of a mechanical blending or mixing of chemical substances like elements and compounds, without chemical bonding or other chemical change, so that each ingredient substance retains its own chemical properties and makeup [1] . While there are no chemical changes in a mixture, physical properties of a mixture, such as its melting point, may differ from those of its components. Mixtures can usually be separated by mechanical means.
-in chemistry, a physical combination of two or more pure substances (i.e., elements or compounds). A mixture is distinguished from a compound, which is formed by the chemical combination of two or more pure substances in a fixed, definite proportion.

Kinds of a MIXTURE
2.) homogeneous mixture
-A homogeneous mixture has the same uniform appearance and composition throughout. Many homogeneous mixtures are commonly referred to as solutions.
-Homogeneous mixtures are mixtures that have definite, true composition and properties. For example, any amount of a given mixture has the same composition and properties.
-Homogeneous mixtures have the same properties throughout the sample. An example is a thoroughly stirred mixture of salt in water or sugar in water. A homogeneous mixture can also be called solutions. Solutions don't need to liquids. Brass is a solid solution of copper and zinc. The air we breath is a solution of many gases.

2.) heterogeneous mixture
-A heterogeneous solution consists of two or more regions called phases that differ in properties. There are mainly two types--colloidal dispersions and suspensions. The main difference is only the size of the items being mixed. A mixture of sand and water is an example of a suspension. They do not settle quickly. The particles of sand are constantly being "bumped" by water molecules and continue to stay in suspension for a while.
-A heterogeneous mixture consists of visibly different substances or phases. The three phases or states of matter are gas, liquid, and solid.

Graphic on the left of "Dancing Raisins" shows liquid, solid, and gas substances in a heterogeneous mixture.
-Heterogeneous mixtures are mixtures with definite composition, for example, granite. Salad is a typical example of this kind of mixture. Heterogeneous mixtures are said to have several phases (not to be confused with phases of matter). The parts of a heterogeneous composition can be mechanically separated from each other. Examples include: salad, trail mix, milk(before homogenization)and ponda
-Heterogeneous mixtures are mixtures without definite composition, for example, granite. Pizza is a typical humorous example of this kind of mixture. Heterogeneous mixtures are said to have several phases (not to be confused with phases of matter), i.e., parts of homogeneous composition that can be mechanically separated from the rest.
-Mixture that do not have uniform composition through out their
mass are known as heterogeneous mixtures.

1. What are mixtures?
Mixture is a substance consisting of two or more substances that have been combined without chemical bonding taking place.
2.Differentiate homogeneous and heterogeneous mixture.
Homogeneous mixture are mixture in which the properties and composition are uniform throughout the sample.Such mixtures are termed solutions. For example, milk, wood, and concrete. While heterogeneous mixture are mixture in which the properties and composition are not uniform throughout the sample. For example, air and table salt thoroughly dissolved in water.

HOMOGENOUS:A homogeneous mixture is one consisting of a single phase of uniform
composition.

HETEROGENOUS:Heterogeneous mixtures are
mixtures that contain more than one phase or substance.

1.What is a mixture??

-Mixture is a combination of 2 or more substances that are not chemically united and do not exist in fixed proportion to each other. Most natural substances are mixture. It can be separated into a pure compounds or elements.

2.Differentiate homogeneous mixture to heterogeneous mixture...

Homogeneous mixture has the same uniform appearance and composition
throughout. Many homogeneous mixture are referred as solutions. The prefix homo indicate sameness while Heterogeneous mixture consist of visibly different substances or phases. The 3 phases are solid, liquid and gas.The prefix hetero indicate difference.
